Permanent employee

The role

Join Our Team

We are a market-leading nature data company. Our mission is to make nature measurable and actionable at scale and accelerate finance into nature. Our platform delivers vital insights on species, habitats, and nature-related risks, helping businesses across sectors - from mining and renewables to consumer goods and financial services - make smarter, more sustainable decisions.
As global leaders in biodiversity monitoring and eDNA analysis, we are transforming how nature is measured. Recognised as Earthshot Prize Finalists 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneers 2024, World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2024, and part of the TechNation Future Fifty 2025, we are shaping the future of how organisations understand and protect nature.
As we enter a new phase of global growth, we are looking for a Marketing Assistant who wants to be immersed in every part of the marketing mix. This is a brilliant entry point for someone newly graduated or 1-2 years into their marketing career who wants to build a genuine generalist skillset and get to know the varied specialisms of marketing.

What You'll Actually Do

This role is varied by design. One day you might be drafting social copy for a coastal conservation story, the next you're updating web pages, formatting a sales deck, or pulling together a performance report. You'll work closely with the Marketing Executive and wider team, supporting delivery across the board rather than owning one narrow lane.

Specifically, you'll:

  • Support campaign delivery - Help build, schedule, and monitor marketing campaigns across email, social, and digital channels
  • Keep the website current - Make simple content and copy updates in Webflow, upload new blogs and case studies, check links and formatting
  • Assist with content creation - Draft social posts, help write and edit blogs, case studies, and email copy; support with basic design edits for existing templates
  • Help manage HubSpot - Build email sends, update contact lists and workflows, support with basic reporting
  • Provide sales support - Prepare and update collateral, one-pagers, and presentations; keep shared marketing materials organised and current
  • Assist with reporting - Help pull together performance data from Google Analytics and HubSpot for regular reporting to the team
  • Get stuck into everything else - Events support, research, PR - whatever the team needs that week. We will provide training at every stage to ensure you learn and improve your skillset as you go

What Success Looks Like

  • Reliable execution - Tasks are completed on time, to a good standard, with minimal chasing
  • Growing ownership - You're gradually taking on more responsibility for specific channels or projects as your confidence builds
  • Attention to detail - Website updates, campaigns, and materials are accurate, and on-brand
  • Proactive support - The wider marketing team feels genuinely supported, with less on their plate because of you
  • Curiosity in action - You're asking questions, learning the tools, and starting to spot opportunities to improve how things are done
  • Understand the impact - You’ll have a broad understanding of how the marketing funnel works and feeds into business objectives and KPIs
  • Personal growth - You've identified the areas of marketing you enjoy most and are starting to specialise

About you

Core Skills & Experience
  • 0-2 years' experience or a degree in marketing, communications, environmental science, conservation, or a related field (internships and placements count)
  • A genuine interest in digital marketing - you're keen to learn about how PR, social, email, and content all fit together
  • Comfortable picking up new tools quickly; any exposure to Webflow, HubSpot, Figma, Google Analytics, Claude is a bonus but not required
  • Strong written communication skills and a good eye for detail
  • Well organised, able to juggle a few tasks at once, work at speed and comfortable asking for help when needed
  • A real passion for sustainability, conservation, or environmental issues, ideally with some study or experience in the space (but not required if you're keen to learn)
  • Above all: proactive, resourceful, and happy to get involved in whatever needs doing

While we offer flexible working, this role requires candidates to be based within proximity that allows you to attend the London office. For optimal team collaboration, applicants must be able to consistently work core hours aligning with 10:00 - 16:00 GMT.

What's in it for you

  • Meaningful Impact: Become part of a team that directly supports biodiversity conservation at a global scale, contributing to the protection of ecosystems and species around the world.
  • Growth Trajectory: Opportunity for professional growth, learning, and development, in a fast-moving and dynamic scale-up.
  • Unmatched Variety: You'll never be bored. We’re a committed team with big goals. Every week brings something new.
  • Incredible People: The team at NatureMetrics is what makes the job amazing. Everyone is genuinely passionate about what we're working toward. We have quarterly company-wide get-togethers, where we also host ‘The NMAs’- our NatureMetrics Awards, where we recognise the people going above and beyond to deliver on our mission and values. We also have two office hubs in Guildford and London to regularly connect and collaborate.
  • Flexibility: We offer flexible working arrangements, with core work hours and a strong asynchronous work culture, to help you balance work and life. Many of our team are working parents and flex their hours around the school run!
  • Competitive Benefits: Salary aligned with experience and market, salary sacrifice pension (sustainability-focused), Life Assurance Scheme, 25 days annual leave, Cycle to Work scheme, enhanced family-friendly policy, and £250 L&D budget via the Learnerbly platform.

Why us?

At NatureMetrics diversity and inclusion are part of our DNA. Together, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees. It fuels our innovation and connects us to the communities we work with. Our values leave no space for stereotypes. We are all unique and pull together for a common purpose.

Our mission is to deliver high-impact nature data at scale, and the way we work is as vital as the work itself. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a culture shaped by five core values:
  • Own the Mission | We are trusted to deliver and equipped to lead.
We set a high bar for ourselves and each other, tackling the unique challenges of an emerging market with true autonomy and clear, open communication.
  • High Stakes, High Speed | Nature can’t wait, and neither will we.
Driven by our opportunity to protect the planet, we choose momentum over perfection, prioritising ruthlessly to move at the speed our mission demands.
  • Integrity Drives Impact | Trust is everything.
We are obsessed with client success because that is how we protect nature at scale. In the world of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), we stand behind our science and client experience with absolute integrity.
  • Responsible Innovation | Resources are limited; our ambition is not.
We respect the scale of our challenge by being intentional with our time and resources, creatively solving complex problems while remaining mindful of our own environmental footprint.
  • We Are One Team | Individually diverse, collectively brilliant.
We ask a lot of each other and give just as much back - recognising that we are whole people, not just colleagues. We actively support each other’s resilience, lead with care, and know we only win when we work together.
