The role
As global leaders in biodiversity monitoring and eDNA analysis, we are transforming how nature is measured. Our technology makes biodiversity insights accessible, actionable, and scalable, powering change from conservation to industry. Recognised as Earthshot Prize Finalists 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneers 2024, World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2024, and part of the TechNation Future Fifty 2025, we are shaping the future of how organisations understand and protect nature.
As we enter a new phase of rapid global growth, we are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with a strong product mindset. You will join our blended software delivery teams to build end-to-end features for our transformational biodiversity platform. You won’t just be writing code; you will be solving user problems, shaping the roadmap, and taking features from an initial concept through to a live product.
What you'll do
Own the full lifecycle: You will take ownership of features from the initial "whiteboard" concept through to deployment and monitoring in production. You embrace the "Product Engineering" mindset—caring as much about the outcome and user value as the code implementation.
Build across the stack: You will design and implement complex solutions using Go/Python on the back-end and build intuitive, responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
Architecture design: You will design and deliver scalable, cloud based microservices (REST, GraphQL) and leverage AI to accelerate development.
Data Integration: You will work with complex data estates, utilizing Neo4j, NoSQL, and relational databases to surface biodiversity insights.
Collaborate and Communicate: Strong communication is essential. You will work closely with other Engineers, Data Scientists, Bioinformaticians, and Product Managers to translate complex requirements into seamless user experiences.
Customer Obsession: You will look beyond the ticket. You are interested in how customers use the platform and are willing to iterate rapidly based on feedback and usage data.
What does success look like?
Impactful Delivery: High-quality, user-centric features are shipped regularly, providing tangible value to our customers.
Seamless UX/UI: Complex biodiversity data is presented in an accessible, intuitive way via a robust front-end.
Collaboration: You act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and trade-offs.
Scalability: A robust microservices architecture is maintained, enabling rapid feature development without sacrificing stability.
Ownership: You proactively identify areas for product improvement and drive them forward without waiting for permission.
