We are seeking a Nature Strategist to support the development of nature-positive strategies; the development, testing, and scaling of NatureMetrics’ nature-tech product solutions across the Agriculture, Forestry and Finance sectors (Finance as it relates to Agriculture and Forestry). The role spans integrated nature strategy, technical and geospatial project delivery, product strategy, thought leadership, and business case development, focused on scaling MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) solutions that integrate technologies such as eDNA, bioacoustics, satellite imagery, and conventional field surveys. The role will provide a support function for the Nature Strategy Team, including business development (20%), insights and stimulus for innovation and product development. The Nature Strategist will be involved in both consulting and product development, working cross-functionally within NatureMetrics in response to rapidly evolving needs and applications.

Key Responsibilities
1. Client Strategy & Consulting
- Provide expert technical consulting to clients, guiding them to deliver nature-positive goals and meet regulatory/civil society demands.
- Develop comprehensive strategies and implementation roadmaps, including risk analysis and intervention planning.
- Deliver bespoke technical solutions using GIS and data modelling for biodiversity accounting, risk assessment, and disclosure reporting.
- Design and recommend tailored biodiversity monitoring strategies using the most effective technologies (e.g., eDNA, bioacoustics, satellite).
- Synthesize complex analytical results into clear reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
2. Product Innovation & Scaling
- Act as a technical bridge between the Strategy and Product teams, translating client delivery insights and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) tool needs into clear product concepts.
- Contribute to the design and validation of MVPs and innovative, multi-year MRV solutions at site and landscape level, integrating various data sources (eDNA, bioacoustics, satellite, etc.).
- Gather market insights and client feedback to support product development and scaling.
- Horizon scan emerging technologies, trends, and competitor actions to inform NatureMetrics' goals.
3. Technical Delivery & Thought Leadership
- Lead technical focus areas, including materiality analyses, impact/dependency assessments, and the design of strategic, pragmatic nature-positive interventions.
- Apply strong critical thinking to evaluate biodiversity methodologies (No Net Loss/Net Positive Impact).
- Utilise a suite of spatial analysis techniques (e.g., habitat mapping, species distribution models).
- Represent NatureMetrics to raise the company profile, generate leads, and contribute to thought leadership through writing for scientific and business publications.
- Collaborate across the business to support growth, embody core values, and ensure project alignment with the broader nature strategy.
